It is always a worry and concern when you want a new kitchen, the decision as to whom to choose to do the work. many kitchen installers do close down which leaves customers in 'the lurch':, sometimes losing their deposits and with no kitchen to show for it. We recently decided to give The Kitchen People the opportunity to totally upgrade our kitchen (at our house ) and would like to share our experience with this company.
There initially was a few hic-ups which were quickly sorted out and the work commenced in just 6 weeks after the agreement was made and the deposit paid. We did find that 50% deposit seemed a large amount but this appears to be the way things are done in New Zealand - (we come from England where his deposit practice is generally not so severe). The young man who actually did the work was named Jacob and we found him to be a very quiet, pleasant young man who worked consistently until his duty was fulfilled. We obviously had to have certain things done in between the work such as building, plumbing, electrical and floor laying. Jacob returned to complete the kitchen immediately these other jobs had been completed. We also decided to have a toughened glass splash back installed and this was arranged and fitted well within the promised time scale. Any problems that we encountered were quickly dealt with by Garry, who incidentally, never lost patience with us regardless of how many times we telephoned or called into the shop.
All in all, we are more than satisfied with the service, quality and attitude that The Kitchen People staff gave to john and myself and we would certainly recommend anyone considering a new kitchen to at least ask for a quote from this company.
