Once you’ve approved your new custom kitchen design and you’re happy with your selection of materials and fittings, the next step in the process is to send your design to our factory nearby in Silverdale. Our joinery factory is a state-of-the-art workshop where the design for your kitchen is precisely replicated in the materials of your choice using a combination of traditional cabinet maker’s craftsmanship and the latest computer-controlled tools. The result is kitchen and scullery joinery made to impeccably high standards of fit and finish.
Custom kitchen installation
At The Kitchen People, we recognise that installation is a special skill of its own, so we employ a specialist team with years of experience installing custom joinery in new homes and renovations. Having measured the space the cabinet must fit as part of the design process, we are certain that your new cabinets will go in seamlessly. As part of the installation process, we can also coordinate all the sub-trades like plumbers, gasfitters, appliances and electrical.

We sincerely believe that a custom kitchen (and a scullery if you have the space) is for everyone. Why do we say that? Well, recently we’ve spoken to many people who’ve been tempted by the low cost of flat-pack kitchens from big box retailers. But they all find that the actual cost starts adding up fast. When you factor in the time and aggravation needed to put them together, and the discovery that there are big gaps between their walls and their new DIY cabinets that often need a professional to rectify, it rapidly eats up any initial saving.

New facings or an all-new kitchen?
We’re often asked to just replace the drawer facings and cupboard doors in a kitchen renovation. But what we typically find is that the cabinets themselves are usually past their use-by date as well – often being warped or damaged by years of heavy use. With the work we have to do to make new facings and doors fit properly, it’s usually a lot more cost-effective to renew the cabinets as well.
